It's been about 3 weeks since I have had time to blog so I have a lot of catching up to do! We have been to San Antonio, the lake, and the boys have even been to the zoo in that time! There have been some small celebrations in that time too, like the fact that I have finally lost enough baby weight that Ben and I can safely cuddle on his top bunk together now that we no longer exceed the recommended weight limit! Also excited that Ben has officially graduated from 3 year old preschool and will be moving on to the 4 year old preschool class, which is a HUGE accomplishment. They don't just let anyone go on to the 4 year old class, you have to be smart you know!...oh, well maybe you just have to be turning 4? There have been some sad moments as well...just when we thought we were going to have a nice family of baby birds on the front door wreath (mommy bird laid 4 eggs 2 wks ago), we came home today to find only one baby bird alive and we think his mom is gone. Chars took this particularly hard and cried for a good bit about it. We hope the baby makes it, Scott has been considering feeding it dog food.
So much has happened I think I will just post some pictures and comment as I go.
This is Chars in his costume. It is supposed to be Batman but he also has superman on too. I don't really know, well neither does he! This is the day we were taking a picture for Ben's birthday invitation and chars insisted I take one of him too. Everything is "me too" with him. It is sooooo cute that he literally repeats EVERYTHING Ben says. When Ben says he is hungry, chars says I am hungry too. He waits to hear what Ben says he wants for breakfast and then shouts I want oats too! Ben was saying he wanted to do something on Sunday and chars shouted yes Sunday, Sunday but he had no idea what Ben had said we were going to do, he just agreed. If Ben poops, so does chars, just in his diaper standing by Ben on the toilet. Finally I told him the other day "ok, Charlie from here on out, I am just going to assume you are going to say exactly what your brother just said and you can save yourself some time!" He obviously continued on with the repeating and the "me too"ing despite my advice. So cute!
This is a picture of my mother's day gift. I just wanted to put the pic up in case Scott's good deed was possibly mocked in another earlier blog.
The next two are pics of Ben at the "bike rally" they had a school the last week. He got a ticket for "having too much fun", seriously, I still have it! He is with one of his wonderful teachers Ms. Caston. I will miss his teachers immensely. They are absolutely so wonderful. I want Chars to go there too so that I will get to see them again!
This is Ben at the zoo with his Gigi and Aunt Gena. This is actually an older picture, not from their zoo visit 2 weeks ago with pops. It was kind of funny, Pops just called one night and wanted to pic the boys up and take them to see the baby elephant at the zoo first thing the next morning. I am not the most spontaneous person but I agreed. He came and took them to the zoo. He brought their John Deere wagon from his house to pull them around in. He told me they would be back in a few hours but because I know Pops, I went ahead and packed lunch! I decided to call around 1pm to see how things were going and he said they'd be home in an hour. They showed up at maybe 3ish and the boys were talking soooo fast I could not understand! Something about a baby elephant and some monkeys hitting each other, I don't know. Well, they all came in the house and told me about the baby elephant. Then Pops tried to leave and the boys both started crying, they wanted to go with him. Of course, he completely caved and they both ended up with him and gigi at their house until I went and picked them up at bedtime. It must have been one of the best days Chars has ever had because he still talks about it all the time. I think it is sooo sweet that he now associates Pops with elephants. He got his pops an elephant coffee mug for his birthday because he said "pops looooves elephants, they are his favorite"! Chars knows the name of the baby elephant, I think it is Malee.
Just another ridiculous picture of Ben and "me too"!
So....This is last week when I needed a damn minute alone! Scott came home to find them watching TV together on the couch. They were only there maybe 5-10 minutes. Ellodie is just like Ben, she already loves to watch TV!
This is Ben doing poses in the yard for his birthday invitation. Again with the spider man costume. He NEVER takes it off. In fact he accidentally got some pee on it the other day and it had sand all over it from the sand box, I insisted he take it off so I could wash it and he had a fit! He had been sleeping in it up to that point. He told me I could wash it but he wanted to put it back on and wear it everyday.
This is Ellodie hanging out at the lake texoma beach. She looks stunning in her tiny turquoise suit! Speaking of Ellodie....God has never created a sweeter baby! She absolutely just goes with the flow! If she is hungry and I am dealing with boys, she waits! She is always happy, always. Only two things really upset her. 1) the car seat, which I understand! 2) 8:30 which is bedtime, when it is 8:30 she starts crying and won't stop until I get her into bed. Then she falls asleep and is good until the morning! Perfection I tell you!
Yet another day in the spider man costume! On this day Ben kept telling me his spider senses were tingling! He has no idea what he is saying and so it was completely out of context and ridiculous! What's even funnier is to hear chars try to repeat it! He also continues to ask me how he can get bitten by a spider. He wants a spider bite because he thinks this will make him like Peter Parker and turn into spider man. He told Scott and I tonight he is frustrated that spiders don't bite like mosquitoes do because he got 5 mosquito bites just today!
Now this next picture is difficult to explain in words but had to be put in the blog! For those of you that were there, you know what I am talking about! 3 weeks ago we were at pops and Gigi's for Pop's birthday dinner. By the time we were ready to leave it was late so I got the boys ready for bed in case they fell asleep in the car. I forgot their toothbrushes so I asked Gigi if she had some for them at her house, thinking they do stay the night there often. Well much to my horror she pulled out this...below....the toothbrush in the pic. This toothbrush was one I bought for Ben BEFORE charlie was even born! In fact I remember that I bought that Tomas the train toothbrush before our outer banks beach trip September 2008! Oh yes, this is the toothbrush my father-in-law, the DENTIST and his wife have been using on both of my children for years now! I was shocked! Here is the worst part, the bristles looked as though they had been put down in the garbage disposal. They were half in and half missing, going every which direction! AND... there was a ribbon of dried toothpaste glued to the top of the bristles as you can see in the picture. Dear Lord!!!!!
This is Ellodie's first shower. She is so great, she just sat in her little Bumbo chair in the shower while Ben and Chars dumped water all over her.
I don't know what this is. Chars just put all this on while we were on our way to the lake. I forgot to mention, Chars new favorite word is "actually". He has heard me use it of course but Ben used it and now Charlie inserts it into every sentence whether it makes a bit of sense or not. It just sounds cool I guess!
This is a picture my mom sent me from when Chars and Ben stayed with her while we went to San Antonio. They had so much fun at "Ma's house"! I guess chars just passed out?
The boys got to go to Aunt Donna and Uncle Bruce's house with my Ma and Pa. They swam and swam. This is a pic of Ben and Me Too with Bruce out back looking at the lake behind their house. They were talking when Ben saw an "alligator" in the lake. Bruce told him it was just a log and Ben said, No, no it is an alligator and someone has killed it so it is not moving. Bruce just said, ok?
We have the most wonderful friend Donna, who also happens to be our housekeeper and babysitter. She and her daughter Holly kept the boys the other night and brought Daisy, their tortoise with them. This is an amazing tortoise, it can live to 150 years and may weigh up to 150#. The boys were fascinated by her! I think she is 5 years old now?
The End!!!!
I am very happy! I love my husband and my kids!
